Treatment Approaches

As an integrative therapist, I blend evidence-based practices with a holistic, client-centered approach, meeting you where you are and adapting our work to your unique needs. This means some sessions might focus on exploring thought patterns, easing self-criticism, or examining unconscious and early-life influences on current thoughts and behaviors; while other sessions slow down to tune into your body and emotions. By combining different approaches, we address your mind, body, and emotions together, helping you build insight, strengthen self-trust, and develop practical strategies you can carry into your everyday life.

Therapy with me is collaborative and flexible, shaped by what feels most meaningful and useful for you in the moment.

Relational Therapy: I bring my genuine self into therapy, centering the human connection and creating a safe space where you can be truly seen, heard, and understood.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): I guide you in identifying unhelpful thought patterns, challenging anxious spirals, and reframing worst-case scenarios.

Solution-Focused Therapy: I work with you to build practical tools and strategies that help you navigate anxiety and everyday challenges more effectively.

Trauma-Informed: I approach therapy with awareness of how past experiences shape present patterns, creating a safe and supportive space where healing can happen at your own pace.

Values-Based Work (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): I support you in clarifying your values and making choices that reflect what truly matters to you.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Parts Work: I guide you in noticing and understanding the different parts of yourself, helping you respond to protective parts with compassion and deepen your connection to your core self.

Mindfulness & Somatic Practices: I teach strategies to stay present, calm your nervous system, and connect with your body and emotions.

Positive Psychology: I work collaboratively with you to help you build practices like gratitude and meaning-making to help shift your perspective.

Motivational Interviewing: I use this dynamic approach to help you tap into your own motivation for change, set meaningful goals, and overcome obstacles that may be holding you back from personal growth.

The power of “and”

My clients would tell you that my favorite word is “and.” I believe that alignment is all about finding – and integrating – all the different truths and feelings in life that might seem to contradict.

It’s not about separating emotions and experiences into “good” and “bad” – and thinking like this can get us into black-and-white thinking, often making anxiety worse. By looking for the gray areas and looking at situations from multiple perspectives, you reach balance and get a handle on anxiety.

In therapy, I help you reframe your thoughts and understand that two (seemingly opposite) things can be true at the same time:

Life really sucks right now, and there are beautiful things about it, too.

This new situation is scary, and it’s kind of exciting.

I didn't check off everything on my to do list and I did a lot of them.

I felt stressed and had a great day.

Together, we’ll find ways to bring all of the gray areas of your life into alignment – the good, the mundane, and the challenging.
